The Picture is titled Childhood and the following is quoted underneath "All her path is strewn with flowers, Round her shine the laughing hours." The print is 7 " x 9 1/2".

This engraving shows a young women sat in a tree, in front of her is a river, which she has her feet dangled in. One of her arms are leaning on the tree with her hand on her face, the other hand also pressed on her face. She looks extremely sad in deep thought. The following words are quoted underneath, For ever, like a year gone by which never more returneth, Our visions fade where human eyes no trace of them discerneth.
