Delightful, fine quality steel engraving of the weir head to the River Tamar, Devon and Cornwall, 1830.

A small farmers cottage is seen to the left of this engraving and the wife of the house can be seen talking to her husband who is leading two cows to pasture. In the background the River Tamar can be seen making its way towards them cutting through the deep valley in which it sits. Other buildings such as barns can be made out further down the valley. Tree line the river side while the steep valley sides give way to rocks. The print is 8" x 5 1/2".

Very Good condition. There is some foxing/brown edging.

The Morwell Rocks, Devon

Delightful, fine quality steel engraving of the Morwell Rocks on the River Tamar, Devon and Cornwall, 1830.

The viewer of this engraving shows stands on a large rock-face looking across at the Morwell Rocks. As the eyes look around they look down into a deep valley in which the river Tamar cuts its way through a tree lined landscape. Hills rise of in the background while on the river two boats make their way downstream. Cows can be seen grazing in one of the valleys fields while birds make their way lazily through the air. The print is 8" x 5 1/2".

Very Good condition. There is some foxing/brown edging.

Bickleigh Vale, Devon

Delightful, fine quality steel engraving of Shaugh Bridge, Bickleigh Vale, Devon, 1830.

In the center of this engraving is Shaugh Bridge with several people crossing over it. Behind it rears a large hill while encircling it is a large area of woodland. A fast flowing stream makes its way towards the foreground of the engraving across some rocks. A small cottage can be seen nestled in some trees. The print is 8" x 5 1/2".

Tiverton Church, Devon

Delightful, fine quality steel engraving of Tiverton Church from the bridge, Devon, 1830.

This calm engraving shows a river quietly making its way through the town of Tiverton. On its surface is a boat with a punter slowly making his way up stream, a fisherman and his dog sit by the riverside hoping for a catch. A mother and daughter take a riverside walk. Looking over all is the medieval church of Tiverton. Trees are gathered around it and add a sense of calm and tranquility to the engraving. The print is 8" x 5 1/2".

A Dartmoor Stream

Beautiful color print after "A Dartmoor Stream" painted by E. W. Haslehurst, c.1899.

Dartmoor is one of the most rugged and beautiful areas of Britain. This view shows a stream cascading across some rocks as it tumbles its way to the sea. Hills rise in the background while surrounding the stream is a collection of heather and gorse covered ground. Several, small stunted trees are growing by the stream and by the bareness of their branches it suggests that this is winter or autumn. The print is 8 1/2" x 6 1/2".

Waterfall and Stone Quarry, North Cornwall

Delightful, fine quality steel engraving of a waterfall and a stone quarry, near Boscastle, 1830.

This breathtaking engraving shows a tall waterfall, its powerful waters crashing over the edge into a lake formed of an old stone quarry. Evidently the stone quarry is still being used as to the right of the engraving is a horse and cart and some quarry workers. Other workers can just be made out on the slopes of the quarry. A flight of birds fly over the waters where they calm from the waterfalls entrance. The print is 8" x 5 1/2".
