Pretty Young Lady by Margaret Tarrant (1888-1959)

This colourful print shows a pretty young lady appearing on the doorstep of a beautiful little cottage. The young lady is dressed in a blue and white corset dress, and her hair is tied loosly back to flatter her natural looking face. At the door is a little girl who is dressed quite unsmartly, in a big pink baggy jumper and a brown pleated skirt. There is an old man stood behind her, he is wearing a long blue coat tightly done up, and a matching hat, he is dressed quite smartly and he is holding a walking stick in his left hand. In the back round there is a man perched on a bench with his head down, sat underneath a bright shining light. Size 6 1/4" x 8 1/4".

The Two Giants by Margaret Tarrant (1888-1959)

This delightful Picture shows two glamerously dressed giants. They are wearing matching clothes which is a blue and gold featherd hat, a blue sleved baggy top which has gold shoulder shells, a red shaul which wraps around one shoulder and round the waist, a blue skirt with gold metal strips and gold bandages wrapped around their feet but showing their toes, to make their shoes. Thier is a tiny little girl in the middle of them and she is clenching onto both of their thumbs, she can just about reach. Behind the three of them is a huge stained glass window showing the colours of pink, yellow, blue and red. Size 6 1/4" x 8 1/4".

The Lamplighter by Margaret Tarrant (1888-1959)

This fine print shows a young girl named Marigold holding hands with a smartly dressed old man, Marigold eyes are lit up with excitement. They are walking through a dark archway and following the lamplighter out of the alley. They are watching im light the lanterns that stand on the walls. The lamplighter looks like a plain man in plain clothes such as brown trousers and a gry long scraggy coat. He is wearing a hard black hat which has a peak covering his eyes. Through the alley you can see other tall dark houses in the backround. Size 6 1/4" x 8 1/4".

The River Boat Trip by Margaret Tarrant (1888-1959)

This charming colored print shows lots of pretty gleaming lights, shining over the high towered bridge and reflecting and shimmering on the water, in the background, coming towards the foreground there are three little sailing boats and one big boat, and right at the front of the print there is a high fence with lots of ledges to step on to help lower yourself safely into the boats. Mrs Grubble, quite a big lady is hunched up halfway down the fence holding on tightly, finding it difficult to get into the boat. Marigold is at the top of the fence leaning over holding onto an umbrella which is helping Mrs Grubble not to fall in! And the old man is holding on tightly to marigold. At the bottom of the fence is and old man sat in the boat holding out his arm waiting to catch Mrs Grubble. Size 6 1/4" x 8 1/4".
